You're Not Alone: Finding Community and Support as a Caregiver

Caregiving can be an extremely rewarding experience, but it can also be challenging at times. It's important to remember that during those times, you are not alone in this journey. Home Caregivers who are a part of the Liken Home Care community, please know that we are here for you. Our team understands certain turbulences may arise but, Liken Home Care is always available to offer support and guidance.


Some of the challenges you may face as a caregiver include:

» Work/Life balance: Learning how to balance your time caring for another while maintaining time for yourself can be a challenge. You may have to juggle work, family, and other commitments while also being a caregiver to another. Liken is here for you, to lend support, training, and guidance. It's important to remember that you are not alone.

» Managing stress: Caring for someone can be emotionally and physically draining, however it can also be the most illuminating experience. At Liken, we hire extremely caring and skilled caregivers. Our network of staff are available to assist in many areas. 

There are many ways to find community and support as a caregiver. You can join a caregiving support group, participate in online forums, connect with other caregivers through social media, or connect with other Liken caregivers. There are also many resources available to help you navigate the challenges of caregiving.

» Support groups: There are many different types of caregiving support groups available, including in-person groups, online groups, and groups for specific populations (e.g., caregivers of people with dementia). These groups provide a space for you to share your experiences, get advice and support from others, and find camaraderie.

» Online forums: There are many online forums where caregivers can connect with each other and share information and support. Some popular caregiver forums include Caregiver Action Network and Family Caregiver Alliance.

» Social media: Social media can be a great way to connect with other caregivers. You can join Facebook groups, follow hashtags on Twitter, or search for blogs written by caregivers.

» Books, articles, and websites: There are many books, articles, and websites that offer information and support for caregivers.



Being a caregiver can be a fulfilling experience. You are truly having an impact on another person and assisting them with their needs.
